Atlanta’s newest and brightest star made her official debut this week to a packed crowd at Atlanta’s newest hotspot, Museum Bar. After receiving a standing ovation at Atlanta Live on Tuesday night, Crystal Nicole (Blackground/Interscope) serenaded industry peers at a private showcase for a packed house of artists, producers, songwriters, media and tastemakers on Wednesday night. The event was hosted by Atlanta CBS anchor Jaquitta Williams and sponsored by urban gossip mag JUICY and ASCAP, guests enjoyed exotic hors d’oerves and received advance copies of Crystal Nicole’s new single and JUICY magazines. Excited about the radio release of her new single, “Pinch Me”, Crystal Nicole said the moment was a dream come true. “I’ve been waiting a long time to perform my own songs, with my own band and I couldn’t imagine sharing this moment anyplace other than home,” Crystal Nicole shares.[/p]Crystal Nicole’s musical journey began years ago twenty miles east of Museum Bar in Decatur, GA. The former school choir chartreuse was known for her enviable vocals and passion for singing. After going the stereotypical star-chasing hurdles, groups disbanding and near misses with destiny, Crystal Nicole started writing songs for other artists. What started as a second hand dream to being an artist, resulted in a Grammy-award winning career with Crystal Nicole earning several awards (including a 2011 Grammy) for her work with such artists as Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield, Monica and Rihanna. Still, Crystal Nicole insists it was her dream of recording her own songs and being able to perform them that motivated her to continue pushing forward.

Crystal Nicole performed three songs ending with her new single “Pinch Me” which was produced by ATL dream team Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox. The song is especially special to Crystal Nicole as she signed with Dupri years ago when her songwriting career began. “Working with Jermaine was the first step in my dreams coming true so it’s only right that he was involved with my initial artist debut,” she says.[/p]
Crystal Nicole’s single ‘Pinch Me’ is currently in rotation at UAC radio and steadily moving up the urban charts. The song is also available on iTunes. Blackground/Interscope looks forward to releasing the album in Spring 2012. “I feel so blessed to have been able to accomplish everything that has happened in my career thus far, but I feel like this is a new beginning,” Crystal Nicole states. “It was important for me to start this new beginning at home, Atlanta is always going to be home, but now its time to conquer the world.” If the thunderous standing ovation received at home was an indication, the musical world is destined to be Crystal Nicole’s oyster.
