
[/p] After months of speculation, DJ Scream has inked a six-figure record deal with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group/Warner Brothers.
“This is a huge opportunity for me to further demonstrate my talents and capabilities. I feel like I’ve helped to garner success for a lot of artists as a DJ but now I have the exciting challenge of putting out records for myself,” says DJ Scream.
“I’ve got a great team behind me and I look forward to adding to the greatness of MMG.” While Ross and Scream have collaborated in the past, rumors began circulating in late April about a possible artist deal after the two businessmen met up for a pow wow in Miami. However, in an exclusive interview with Hot 107.9 last night, Ross revealed what transpired behind closed doors.
“Scream came down to the bottom and we just laid out a strategy, not only to get money but to continue to build a brand, to continue to make sure ATL and the south still be one of the premier spots to make music. You can go to Scream for a lot of different things, he’s a boss.”[/i][/p]The veteran spinner will join the Maybach Music Group roster of Meek Mill, Wale, Pill, Stalley and Teedra Moses and will also play an integral part in the music that comes out of the Maybach Music camp. Ross confirmed that Scream will host his new mixtape, as well as his album sampler, leading up to the release of
God Forgives, I Don't. Say’s Ross about his latest signee,
“I’ve been watching Scream build his brand for the last few years and be a part of some of the dopest projects to come out of the south. I wanted to see the homie make a major debut on a worldwide scale and it's something that we fixing to do. I'm gonna support the homie in all his endeavors, so you can expect something huge.” [/p]No stranger to grinding, Scream will continue his co-executive duties with Hoodrich ENT, as well as his responsibilities with Sirius XM’s Hip Hop Nation and Atlanta’s Hot 107.9. Although his debut album is yet to be titled, fans can expect a Spring 2012 release.[/p]
