
There not been a single rapper or group to speak on behalf of the disenfranchised since the days of Public Enemy and N.W.A. that received considerable enough airplay leading to chart-topping success.
The song Burn by Killer Mike that addresses economical woes of the poor and police brutality sparked a recent debate when BET refuse to air the video. Killer Mike took action and tweeted the network to seek answers to why his video was being banned.
"Have we as American[s] and Hip Hop head[s] gotten so lazy and apathetic that we let 'Burn' go unnoticed by the masses? I, on the behalf of the poor and disenfranchised, [ask you] to reconsider the decision NOT to play 'Burn".[/p]What are your thoughts and do you think BET is justified in banning this video?[/p]
